Responsible Drinking Pledge
As a veteran or active-duty service member, I take pride in honoring my commitments—to my country, my community, and myself. In the spirit of camaraderie and responsibility, I pledge to drink responsibly and support a safe and respectful drinking culture within the veteran community. By taking this pledge, I commit to:
Drink Responsibly – Enjoy whiskey and spirits in moderation, respecting my limits and those of my fellow service members, while tracking my drinks and avoiding excessive consumption.
Never Drink and Drive – Plan ahead by designating a driver, using rideshare services, or making arrangements for a safe ride home for myself and my fellow veterans.
Look Out for My Brothers and Sisters – Watch over fellow veterans and active-duty members, stepping in when needed to prevent unsafe situations and encouraging responsible drinking choices.
Honor My Well-Being – Prioritize my health and mental clarity by making informed choices about alcohol consumption, staying hydrated, and alternating alcoholic beverages with non-alcoholic drinks.
Secure Alcohol Safely at Home – Ensure responsible access to alcohol at home to prevent misuse and promote a culture of safety.
Seek Help – I vow to lean on my fellow veterans for support and to seek assistance if I ever feel that my alcohol use or wellness requires it.
Promote a Culture of Respect – Model responsible drinking behaviors at all Whiskey Valor events and gatherings, and lead by example to create and promote opportunities that support veteran health, wellness, and responsible drinking practices.
